National Foundation for Democracy and Human Rights in Uganda

The National Foundation for Democracy and Human Rights in Uganda is a civic non-partisan, not profit-making, non-governmental organization, registered under the Non-Governmental Organization Registration statute of Uganda (1989).

The Foundation was formed in 2000 by a group of Youth to promote human rights in the Kabale district of Uganda. Over the past ten years, its geographical scope has expanded and now includes the districts of Kanungu, Rukungiri, Kisoro, and Ntungamo. The organization’s goal is to promote Justice, peace, human rights, Democracy, Good Governance and Development through the implementation of Community-Based Projects.
